Property StudentshipCollege of Arts & Social SciencesThe 3-year studentship is funded by the College of Arts and Social Science and will be based in the University of Aberdeen Business School. The studentship is tied to the Centre for Property Research's residential index project, which will model, measure, and forecast regional housing prices. The transaction price data used for the modelling will be updated regularly. It will be the responsibility of the successful candidate to manage the data, to liaise with the data provider, and to conduct the statistical analysis to timely generate the index.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own research ideas and applications.The successful candidate will have, or be close to completion, of an at least upper second class Honours or MSc degree in Property, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a comparable quantitative subject.
Applicants should be familiar with regression analysis, model selection, and forecast evaluation. Familiarity with statistical software such as Stata and/or a programming language is required. Experience with large data sets and data management is an asset.
