Full Description:
A Ph.D. assistantship is available to study how the roots of Arabidopsis can recognize self from non-self roots. The successful applicant will develop a research project in collaboration with other lab members to develop a genetic and biochemical understanding through the isolation of putative receptors and ligands involved in this process. Applicants are required to have a M.S. degree in a suitable area, significant research experience in molecular biology and biochemistry particularly related to Arabidopsis. Selection will be based on academic achievements, research experience and a proven record of working independently yet within a group.
